Chapter 1 Hardware Configuration

1.3 Specifications

1.3.1 System

 CPU: LGA1155-socket Core i7/i5/i3, Pentium and Xeon E3-1200/1200v2 series

processors

 L2 Cache: Please refer to CPU specification for detail information.

 BIOS: AMI SPI BIOS (64 Mb SPI)

 System Chipset: Intel Q77(PCE-5127); Intel C216(PCE-7127)

 SATA hard disk drive interface: Two SATA3 (600MB/s) are with blue connec-

tors and four SATA2 (300MB/s) are with black connectors. These interfaces can

be enabled/disabled in the BIOS.

1.3.2 Memory

 RAM:

– PCE-7127: Up to 16 GB in two 240-pin DIMM sockets. Supports dual-chan-

nel DDR3 1333/1600 MHz SDRAM WITH or WITHOUT ECC function.

– PCE-5127: Up to 16 GB in two 240-pin DIMM sockets. Supports dual-chan-

nel DDR3 1333/1600 MHz SDRAM WITHOUT ECC function.

1.3.3 Input/Output

 Backplane Support:

Backplane Support Matrix Table:

PCE-7127 supports dual PCIe x8 or one

x16 lane(s) for supporting both PCE-

7BXX/5BXX series BPs.

PCE-7127 supports dual PCIe x8 or one x16

lane(s) for supporting Advantech backplanes of

PCE-7BXX and 5BXX series that are with single

or dual PCIe x8 slot(s).

Fully supports Advantech SUSI APIs and

Utilities.

Reduces customer S/W development effort with

more reliable S/W quality, also provides value-

added utilities such as system monitor and

Embedded Security ID.

SATA Gen3

Provides high performance storage interface.

SATA Gen3 is 6Gb/s which is double bandwidth

with SATA Gen2.

USB 3.0

Provides high transfer data performance interface;

USB 3.0 data transfer rate is 5Gbps which is 10

times faster than USB2.0.

Note! PCE-5127/7127 does NOT support PATA(IDE) interface.

Only PCE-7127 supports Intel Xeon processors.

Note! Wrong memory configuration may cause no boot or system instability

problems.
